Powerful defender Martin Laursen tasted glory with AC Milan in the 2003 Champions League final.
Club: Aston Villa
Debut: 29/03/00 v Portugal
Laursen arrived at the San Siro in 2001 after successful spells at Verona and Danish club Silkeborg.
But he found first team opportunities limited and opted for a £3m move to Premiership side Aston Villa in May 2004.
The big Dane remains coach Morten Olsen's first choice at centre-back in a resolute Denmark back four.
Laursen normally plays alongside former Milan defender Thomas Helveg in the centre of defence with Niclas Jensen and Rene Henrikson as full-backs.
He is renowned for his strong presence at set-pieces and is a danger going forward.
Did you know? Laursen signed for Parma in 2001 but was transferred to Milan before even playing a game for the club.
