I was feeling pretty smug when the Czechs were the only team to qualify for the last eight with a 100% record.
They achieved that when their second team beat Germany, but enjoyable viewing as that was, it was more that I'd tipped them as dark horses.
Against Denmark, 15 minutes of magic further enhanced my reputation as a tipster, but then came a Greek tragedy.
If there was one match in the tournament I thought I could have predicted the outcome of that was it.
But that's football and it's back to the day job for me!
Karel Bruckner's boys really were fantastic with Pavel Nedved pulling the strings and Milan Baros banging in the goals.
And they deserved a spot in the final for their outstanding comeback against Holland alone - one of the best matches I've ever had the pleasure to watch.
