Croatia coach Otto Baric admitted he was disappointed after his team failed to break down Switzerland.
Switzerland held on for a 0-0 draw after having a man sent off and Baric said: "The players were fighting and trying but they couldn't manage it.
"We haven't won and I'm not happy but I cannot complain about the effort. We just could not find a fluid game.
"We had possession but did not make enough good final passes to create clear chances."
Baric added: "It was very hard out there because it was very, very hot - 38, maybe 40 degrees.
"We have to remember we still have a point and the Swiss team should not be underestimated. Maybe the media made us favourites, but we knew we were playing
a good team."
"The so-called favourites of our group (France and England) still have to beat us so the group is still open."
