The Dutch football association has dropped its appeal against Ruud van Nistelrooy's two-match ban by Uefa.
The striker was suspended for two World Cup qualifying matches for insulting referee Anders Frisk after Holland's Euro 2004 semi-final loss to Portugal.
But the Dutch authorities feared a longer ban for the Manchester United player if their appeal failed.
Van Nistelrooy will miss qualifiers against the Czech Republic on 8 September and Macedonia on 9 October.
