Sunderland claimed victory in the north-east derby in October

The date for Newcastle's home match against derby rivals Sunderland next year has been changed to accommodate live coverage on Sky television.

The game between the two close neighbours was originally scheduled for Saturday, 31 January.

But it will now take place at St James' Park on Sunday, 1 February, with a kick-off time of 1330 GMT.

Sunderland will aim to do the double after winning 2-1 in their meeting at the Stadium of Light in October.
