Premier League newcomer at West Ham
It has been a fairly quiet summer down at West Ham, with just one big-money signing rocking up at Upton Park.
That man is Switzerland midfielder Valon Behrami, the versatile 23-year-old joining for £5m from Italian giants Lazio.
West Ham vice-chairman Ausgeir Fridgeirsson told BBC Sport the Hammers are expecting big things immediately from the right-sided Behrami.
"Valon is a good player technically, potent going forward and has the physical attributes to adapt quickly to the Premier League," said Fridgeirsson.
"Several other big clubs were interested in him and it is credit to our technical director, Gianluca Nani, that he has brought him to West Ham."
Let's hope Behrami proves to be less injury-prone than West Ham's other right-back-cum-right-winger, the perpetually and prolifically sidelined Kieron Dyer.
