Ferguson hails 'massive' victory
Alex Ferguson
Ferguson shows his delight after Manchester United's fourth goal
Sir Alex Ferguson believes Manchester United can finally start thinking about the title after opening up a five-point lead at the Premiership summit.

United battled back from two goals down to beat Everton 4-2, while rivals Chelsea drew 2-2 against Bolton.

United manager Ferguson said: "This was a significant day, with us extending our advantage.

"The players were fantastic and they never gave up and it was a massive victory at this stage of the season."

He added: "We got a break when their keeper dropped the ball and we scored but after that we were brilliant.

"We have played the right way and if we do win the league, we deserve it."

Everton captain Phil Neville felt his side let themselves down with individual mistakes by several players.

He stated: "We got ourselves into a good position by getting into a two-goal lead.

"But we let them back into the game with an individual mistake that they scored from.

"Then we made three more mistakes, including one from me, and we were punished and it is disappointing from our point of view."
