Pardew's Charlton remain deep in relegation trouble
|
Charlton boss Alan Pardew was left bewildered by the award of a free-kick to Fulham that led to Chris Coleman's side scoring a stoppage-time equaliser.
"I'm absolutely disgusted," said Pardew after the 2-2 draw. "You'd expect the officials to be nice and calm and they made a bad mistake there.
"We were two minutes away from ecstasy but we feel deflated.
"However, I have to commend the players. I've seen enough here to suggest we can be competitive."
Fulham's stoppage-time equaliser came when Frank Queudrue scored from a controversial free-kick that should have been a Charlton throw-in.
The ball went out of play off Fulham winger Tomasz Radzinski as he was challenged by Charlton defender Djimi Traore but the visitors were given a free-kick.
Fulham manager Chris Coleman admitted he had some sympathy for Charlton over the free-kick decision.

"I think we earned a bit of fortune," he conceded. "To score when we did was a tough blow for Charlton but it was a good point for us.
"We kept going, we kept pushing and the majority of the game in the second half was in their half.
"But we found it difficult to break down their defence and Charlton were hanging on in there."
