Defender Wilfred Bouma has completed a £3.5m move to Aston Villa from Dutch outfit PSV Eindhoven.
The 27-year-old has signed a three-year contract with the Villa Park club after passing a medical on Tuesday.
Bouma will now join up with the Dutch national squad for World Cup qualifiers against Armenia and Andorra.
"The manager David O'Leary was a massive reason for me signing for Villa," said Bouma. "He made it clear that he believes in me and my ability."
Speaking to the club's website, he added: "That gives me confidence and that's important for me.
"I had a good feeling about Villa - they have a history of being a big club and the people I have spoken to from the club were all very helpful. that's why I chose Aston Villa."
Bouma helped PSV reach the semi-finals of the Champions league last season.
