Taylor issues ultimatum
Juan Pablo Angel
Angel is unsettled at Villa
Aston Villa boss Graham Taylor has urged Alpay and Juan Pablo Angel to make their intentions clear and tell him if they wish to leave the club.

The pair failed to secure the moves that they were looking for during the transfer window in January.

Turkey's Alpay went on the transfer list last summer, while Colombia's Angel, a club record 9.5m signing, is also keen to move on.

You're either with us or you're not - and there's no in between

Villa boss Graham Taylor

And Taylor is incensed that they have let their feelings known to the media rather than to him.

Taylor told the players: "You're either with us or you're not - and there's no in between."

He said: "The situation with Juan Pablo has always been bubbling under the surface and Alpay was going off to a German clinic when I arrived 12 months ago.

"It is unsettling but when players know where the office door is, it concerns me they choose not to come through it. Things then appear on websites or in newspapers.

"So my message is, 'Come out in the open and say what you mean'.

"Then we can all move on.

"It has been frustrating because I know that if everyone is not giving their all, we won't get far.

"So I am saying if you are not here for the cause, you are not with us at all. You're either in it or you're not. There's no maybes.

"If they conduct themselves in a professional way, they will get my support whether they're in or out of the side."
