England 'line up Rooney'
Will Wayne Rooney be in Eriksson's next squad?
Will Rooney be in Eriksson's next squad?
Sven-Goran Eriksson reportedly wants to fast-track Everton teenager Wayne Rooney into the full England set-up.

The coach is said to want to invite the striker for the national side's get-together in December.

And that could lead to the 17-year-old's inclusion in England's next game against either Australia or Denmark in February.

If he were to be included in the friendly it would make him the youngest player to represent England since the 19th century.

Eriksson is understood to be so impressed by the goalscoring sensation that he wants him to bypass England Under-19s and Under-21s.

Liverpool's Michael Owen was 18 years and 59 days when he won his first cap against Chile in February 1998.

Rooney scored his second Premiership goal against Leeds on 2 November - to make him the Premiership's youngest scorer.

However, Everton boss David Moyes has insisted he will keep Rooney on the bench despite Rooney's scoring exploits.

Rooney is set to sign a new three-year deal - which has an option for a further two seasons - with the Goodison Park side.

He had been expected to sign the deal on his 17th birthday on 24 October, but the deal was delayed because Rooney was switching agents.
