Sunderland v Tottenham
Live coverage now, match report will appear later.
Stadium of Light - Sunday, 10 November, 2002 Kick Off: 1605 GMT
MOST SIGNIFICANT STATS
High riding Tottenham travel north in search of their 20th League win on Wearside in the hope that the midweek Worthington Cup result won't effect their League form, while the wish of lowly opponents Sunderland is exactly the opposite.
Sunderland Reserves put in a determined second half display to defeat the Arsenal Shadow Eleven 2-3 at Highbury on Wednesday - their first win under Howard Wilkinson.
The former FA Technical Director has steadied the ship at the Stadium of Light with successive 1-1 draws in the Premiership at Bolton and Charlton, but is still on the look out for his first Premiership victory.
Spurs' winning run came to an end at Liverpool, was followed by a goalless draw with Chelsea and Wednesday's Worthington Cup exit at the hands of Burnley. The First Division side too came from behind with an outstanding second half display to win 2-1.
Wilkinson will have been pleased to see the Wearsiders score three goals at Highbury. That's exactly half the tally they've managed in this entire Premiership campaign. Couple that with the one win and one clean sheet they've managed in nine top flight matches and it's easy to see why just two points separate the Black Cats from the foot of the table going into this round of games.
Sunderland have used 24 players in Premiership matches this season - that's three more than Tottenham and more than any other club.
No red cards have been shown to the players of either of these clubs in top division games so far this term.
