Foxes' exodus begins
Defender Gary Rowett is joining Charlton
Defender Gary Rowett is joining Charlton
Leicester ended their season in style with a 2-1 win against Spurs on Saturday, but the break-up of the team has already begun.

Defender Gary Rowett is joining Charlton and £6m-rated midfielder Muzzy Izzet also seems to have played his last game for the club.

Manager Micky Adams confirmed after the win that Rowett was on his way.

"Gary is joining Charlton for £3.5m, which is what I believe we paid for him," he said.

I've had six fantastic years here and thanks for the memories
Muzzy Izzet
Izzet was the last player to leave the field and made a brief statement to the crowd after the victory, only Leicester's fifth in the league this year.

"I've had six fantastic years here and thanks for the memories," said the Turkey international, who has been a target for Middlesbrough.

More players could leave the club in the summer with relegation to the Nationwide League confirmed weeks ago.

Adams said: "There has been interest from various managers but apart from Rowett and Izzet there have been no firm offers."

Adams was delighted with the victory and in the four games he has been in charge, Leicester won one and drawn three.

He said: "I am pleased with have sent the fans home happy. We went a goal down and that seemed to spark us into life.

"But we shouldn't get carried away. I said to the players in the dressing room, 'where were you the first half of the season?'.

There are no excuses for that performance - it was dreadful
Spurs boss Glenn Hoddle

Teddy Sheringham put Spurs ahead from the penalty spot only for Paul Dickov to pull Leicester level. Matthew Piper grabbed the winner with his first goal for the club.

Tottenham manager Glenn Hoddle was furious at the way his team caved in after taking the lead.

"There are no excuses for that performance. It was dreadful.

"Things have to change. At times we have played some smashing football but made some defensive errors.

"I wanted us to finish seventh but the way we lost it today really disappoints me."
