All the incidents and goals from Boxing Day's Premiership matches, including a comfortable win for leaders Newcastle and victories for Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United.

1655: Blackburn 0-3 Sunderland 1652: Ipswich's 2-0 win at Portman Road sends relegation rivals Leicester to the foot of the Premiership table. 1652: The final whistle at Goodison Park signals a fourth successive Premiership win for Manchester United. 1651: The Villa Park clash reaches a dramatic climax as one goalkeeper is denied by the other, Liverpool's Jerzy Dudek punching clear from the onrushing Peter Schmeichel in the final seconds. 1648: Newcastle are denied a fourth goal in the final minute at St James' Park, Alan Shaearer's effort disallowed for a push by the former England striker. 1645: Everton 0-2 Manchester UnitedRuud Van Nistelrooy arrives at the far post to steer home a perfectly weighted cross from Ryan Giggs and put United in total control at Goodison Park.

1632: Aston Villa 1-2 Liverpool 1630: Blackburn's afternoon takes another turn for the worse as Craig Short is sent off for violent conduct. 1627:Liverpool hand a debut to Nicolas Anelka, introducing the striker as a 68th-minute substitute for Jari Litmanen. 1625: Ian Taylor shoots against a post for Aston Villa, Paul Merson's follow-up brilliantly deflected away by John Arne Riise. 1616: Manchester United, searching for a breakthrough at Goodison Park, throw David Beckham into the action in place of Nicky Butt.
Sixto Peralta quickly doubles Ipswich's advantage, drilling home left footed after a pass from Martijn Reuser.

1608: Ipswich 1-0 Leicester 1535: Liverpool are awarded a penalty at Villa Park, Steve Gerrard felled by the trailing leg of George Boateng. But Jari Litmanen wastes the chance of a second gift, firing his spot kick against a post with Peter Schmeichel diving the wrong way.

Liverpool take the lead in remarkable cirumstances. Goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel sends a long throw forward, only to see the ball bounce off the back of referee Andy D'Urso and straight into the path of Jari Litmanen. The Finn takes full advantage, stroking the ball into an unguarded net from 30 yards. Team news: Liverpool leave new signing Nicolas Anelka on the bench for their trip to Aston Villa, Michael Owen joined by Jari Litmanen up front. Fabien Barthez recoveres from a back injury in time to play for Manchester United at Everton, who give a first start to former United winger Jesper Blomqvist. The start is Blomqvist's first since United's 1999 Champions League final victory over Bayern Munich.

1356: Arsenal go top of the Premiership, at least for the time being, as they complete their 2-1 win over Chelsea at Highbury. 1356: Robbie Fowler leaves the Reebok Stadium pitch clutching the match ball as Leeds seal a 3-0 win at Bolton. 1354: The London stalemate at Craven Cottage is confirmed as the final whistle brings a frustrating Boxing Day clash to an end. 1353: The final whistle sounds at St Mary's as Southampton fans celebrate victory over their former manager Glenn Hoddle and his Tottenham side.
1352: West Ham 4-0 Derby 1350: Bolton 0-3 LeedsRobbie Fowler makes up for his earlier penalty miss by completing his hat-trick at Bolton, latching on to Alan Smith's through ball and firing home at the second attempt after Jaskelainen saves his initial effort.
1347: West Ham 3-0 Derby 1345: Robbie Fowler spurns the chance of a Leeds hat-trick as he fires wide from the penalty spot after Lee Bowyer is fouled.
1334: West Ham 2-0 Derby
Substitute Sylvain Wiltord puts Arsenal in front at Highbury, firing home from the edge of the area after Chelsea fail to clear a corner.

1235: Arsenal 0-1 Chelsea
Robbie Fowler strikes his second of the day, sprinting clear and providing a clinical finish following Mark Viduka's pass.
1205: West Ham 1-0 Derby
1202: Bolton 0-1 Leeds Team news: Emmanuel Petit, back in the Chelsea starting line-up after injury, makes his first return to Highbury since leaving Arsenal two seasons ago. Patrick Vieira returns from suspension for the Gunners. Jonathon Woodgate plays his first Premiership game in 11 months as he returns to the Leeds starting line-up for their trip to Bolton. Darryl Powell replaces Georgi Kinkladze in midfield as Derby seek a first Boxing Day win in five years against West Ham. Frederic Kanoute returns up front for the Hammers, with Jermain Defoe dropped to the bench. |
