Man Utd make eight changes for the game with Bolton, but goalkeeper Fabien Barthez is given a chance to atone for his midweek mistakes against Deportivo in the Champions League.

David Beckham and Ruud van Nistelrooy are rested - Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke start. Kevin Nolan and Bruno N'Gotty come in for Bolton.

Gilles Grimandi, Ray Parlour and Dennis Bergkamp are all in for Arsenal - Keith Gillespie replaces Corrado Grabbi for Blackburn.

Andy Todd plays in the centre of the Charlton defence at Derby, where his father Colin is in charge of the Rams for the first time at home. Loan signing Benito Carbone also starts for Derby.

Redknapp starts

At Filbert Street, new Leicester boss Dave Bassett keeps faith with Ade Akinbiyi, but the Foxes are without Muzzy Izzet and Gary Rowett. Jamie Redknapp gets his first start of the season in midfield for Liverpool.

Paul Gascoigne returns to the Everton bench as Mark Pembridge is preferred in midfield and Tomasz Radzinski gets the nod ahead of Duncan Ferguson up front.

Villa start with Juan Pablo Angel and Darius Vassell in attack, while Steve Staunton comes into defence.

West Ham welcome back Nigel Winterburn and Laurent Courtois for their home game with Southampton, while Rory Delap, Jason Dodd and Mark Draper are in the Saints starting XI.
