Charlton's sweet success
Charlton's Steve Brown is sent off while he is being stretchered off against Leicester
Steve Brown is red carded as he is stretchered off
Charlton 2-0 Leicester

Goals from Jonatan Johansson and Shaun Bartlett condemned Leicester to their 15th away defeat in 16 games to increase the pressure on manager Peter Taylor.

Both sides were left seeing red after a crazy first 45 minutes saw Charlton's Steve Brown and Leicester's Junior Lewis sent off.

Referee Mike Dean had to be escorted off the pitch at half-time by stewards and police as Taylor remonstrated angrily with him.

Johansson struck just before the break, and Bartlett added a second early in the second half to give Charlton their first home win of the season.

I don't think it's good for the players to be thinking their manager's job is on the line in every game they play, because I can't see how they'll play with the freedom that they should play with
Leicester City manager Peter Taylor
The home side were reduced to 10 men after 25 minutes for a deliberate handball by Steve Brown.

Brown handled the ball on the edge of the penalty box.

Rather than decide on Brown's punishment immediately, Dean allowed the player to receive four minutes of treatment for a leg injury.

When Brown was hauled onto a stretcher, the official finally showed him the red card.

Charlton fans showed their displeasure by throwing their programmes onto the pitch, resulting in a delay while they were cleared away.

On 42 minutes, the numbers were made even again. Junior Lewis was dismissed for a seemingly innocuous challenge on Charlton's Jonatan Johansson.

Pinpoint cross

The foul was missed by Dean but spotted by his assistant referee.

The decision infuriated Leicester boss Taylor and he made no secret of his feelings

I just wonder if it's time there was someone sitting up in the stand who can officiate on those occasions, because television evidence will be put forward and the ref gets hammered for it
Charlton manager Alan Curbishley
Johansson made Leicester pay on the stroke of half-time when he got the first goal of the game.

The Finnish striker headed past Walker from six yards after a pinpoint cross from the left by Chris Powell.

Bartlett added to Taylor's woes when he added a second after 55 minutes after a cross by Johansson from the right.

Leicester finished the game with nine men. Taylor had already used his three substitutes when Matt Heath was stretchered off with a head injury.

Charlton: Kiely, Young, Powell, Fish, Brown, Konchesky, Parker, Kinsella, Stuart, Johansson, Bartlett. Subs: Roberts, Todd, Euell, Robinson, Jensen.

Leicester: Walker, Marshall, Sinclair, Heath, Davidson, Savage, Izzet, Jones, Lewis, Scowcroft, Sturridge. Subs: Royce, Wise, Elliott, Benjamin, Impey.
