Foxes foil Fulham
Leicester's Dennis Wise
Wise tries to wriggle free of the Fulham markers
Leicester 0-0 Fulham

Not even the presence of £11.5m signing Steve Marlet could help Fulham unlock Leicester's defence at Filbert Street.

The French international was making his full debut after recovering from the knee injury which hampered the start of his career with the Premiership newcomers.

But even though the Londoners also fielded Louis Saha and Luis Boa Morte in their starting line-up, they failed to come up with the goal that would have clinched all three points.

Marlet wasted an early chance for the visitors
It could have been so different had Marlet not wasted a good chance after just two minutes.

The 27-year-old striker mis-kicked in front of goal after being set up by Saha.

The main talking point of the first half came when Frank Sinclair was substituted on 34 minutes.

I thought we very decent because Fulham are a passing side and sometimes it is difficult to get the ball
Leicester manager Peter Taylor
The former Chelsea defender was clearly unhappy at being replaced by Gary Rowett and headed straight for the dressing room without acknowledging boss Peter Taylor.

Neither goalkeeper was really troubled before the break, although Leicester's Ian Walker was forced to scramble away Lee Clark's volley on the half-hour mark.

Dean Sturridge went close in first-half injury time, shooting straight at Edwin Van der Sar.

Leicester began the second half in determined fashion, a string of corners forcing Fulham into some desperate clearances.

But they had to wait until the 67th minute for their best chance of the game, Sturridge putting a header just wide from Lee Marshall's cross.

Fulham were hit by the loss of Zat Knight and Sylvain Legwinski in the second half.

We need to start getting victories. This was another two points dropped in my view
Fulham;s Lee Clark
Knight limped off in the 63rd minute, quickly followed by Sylvain Legwinski, who had only come on at half time for Boa Morte.

Leicester seemed to take advantage of their opponents' problems, although their late pressure failed to result in an all-important goal.

Leicester: Walker, Marshall, Elliott, Davidson, Sinclair, Stewart, Savage, Wise, Izzet, Scowcroft, Sturridge. Subs: Royce, Rowett, Impey, Jones, Benjamin.

Fulham: Van der Sar, Finnan, Melville, Knight, Brevett, Clark, Davis, Collins, Boa Morte, Saha, Marlet. Subs: Taylor, Symons, Malbranque, Hayles, Legwinski.
