Minute-by-minute action from Leeds' crucial 2-1 win over Liverpool at Anfield on Good Friday.

1130 BST: Liverpool kick-off after a minute's silence for the victims of the Hillsborough tragedy and the recent disaster at Ellis Park, South Africa, is impeccably observed.

3 minutes: Stephane Henchoz heads clear a dangerous right-wing cross from Leeds full-back Danny Mills.

4 mins: Liverpool 0-1 Leeds. England international Rio Ferdinand puts Leeds into the lead when he heads a right-wing corner in from close range at the far post.

6 mins: Nigel Martyn in the Leeds goal tips a curling 25-yard free-kick from Danny Murphy round the post.

12 mins: Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann clears Ian Harte's whipped free-kick from the right.

15 mins: Alan Smith evades a challenge from Henchoz inside Liverpool's area and contrives a clever shot as he falls backwards, but it goes over the crossbar. Leeds are controlling the game so far.

19 mins: Liverpool's Jamie Carragher plays a ball in from the right and Danny Murphy controls inside the area. He appears to be have a good chance to score, but takes too many touches and the chance is gone.

25 mins: England international Steven Gerrard is booked for a late tackle on Smith.

26 mins: Former Liverpool defender Dominic Matteo pulls off a brilliant tackle on Michael Owen in the area.

27 mins: Owen hits an athletic volley from 12 yards out, but his shot is directed straight at Martyn.

33 mins: Liverpool 0-2 Leeds. Harry Kewell slips a lovely ball through to Lee Bowyer from the left-hand corner of the area. Liverpool keeper Sander Westerveld gets a hand to Bowyer's first shot, but the Leeds player slots his second chance away from close range.

38 mins: Murphy blazes a 30-yard shot over the Leeds crossbar.

39 mins: Mills comes in from the right touchline and strikes a low drive marginally wide of the near post from 20 yards.

43 mins: Sami Hyypia manages to rob Kewell 25 yards out with the Leeds midfielder threatening to break clear.

Half-time: Liverpool 0-2 Leeds. The visitors go into the interval with a deserved lead. They have dominated midfield, been assured at the back and lively up-front. Liverpool have looked lethargic and failed to create any clear-cut chances.

45 mins: Gary McAllister and Vladimir Smicer come on for Patrik Berger and Murphy for Liverpool.

46 mins: Hyypia's header from a left-wing corner is tipped over the crossbar by Martyn.

52 mins: Hamann strikes a 25-yard free-kick straight at the Leeds wall. He is then booked for a crude challenge on Kewell on the right touchline.

54 mins: Liverpool 1-2 Leeds. Owen, played in by Carragher, races down the left wing before sending an excellent cross into the area. Gerrard, sliding in, scores on the volley from the edge of the six-yard box.

56 mins: Kewell brilliantly evades three challenges on the left and crosses to Smith at the far post. The Leeds striker heads back into the six-yard box, but McAllister lunges to clear the ball for Liverpool.

60 mins: Again Kewell embarks on a thrilling run and is only a fraction away from picking out Bowyer in the box. The ball instead comes to Olivier Dacourt on the edge of the area, who shoots straight at Westerveld.

63 mins: Hamann hits a 25-yard free-kick wildly wide of Martyn's left-hand post. 65 mins: Bowyer controls a Liverpool clearance on his chest before unleashing a powerful volley over the crossbar.

66 mins: Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier brings Emile Heskey on for Hamann, to the loud approval of the Anfield crowd.

69 mins: Liverpool's hopes suffer a hammer blow when Gerrard is controversially shown a second yellow card for a foul on David Batty and subsequently sent off.

70 mins: Viduka shows neat footwork on the edge of the area before hitting the outside of Liverpool's right post with a low shot.

77 mins: Leeds break quickly. Matteo races down the left and plays the ball infield to Viduka, who closes in on goal but is thwarted by Westerveld.

83 mins: Leeds bring on Jason Wilcox in place of Kewell.

86 mins: Smith is substituted for Robbie Keane as Leeds introduce another pair of fresh legs.93 mins: Viduka puts the ball into the net after being played in by Keane, but the goal is ruled offside.

89 mins: Fowler sells an outrageous dummy to move into the area, but drags his shot woefully wide of the near post.

91 mins: Westerveld pumps the ball deep upfield and Heskey heads on, but Martyn gets the ball ahead of Owen.

Full-time: Liverpool 1-2 Leeds.
