Exeter 0-1 Hull City
A late goal from Mark Greaves was enough to seal a 1-0 victory for Hull in a scrappy encounter with Exeter at St James Park.
Exeter had several clear chances in the first-half, but both Christian Roberts and Graeme Tomlinson failed to score with only the keeper to beat. After the break it was Hull who created the clearer opportunities. Exeter keeper Arjan Van Heusden was forced to make fine saves from Greaves and Theodore Whitmore as the visitors began to expose the Grecians' defence. Hull grabbed victory with the only goal five minutes from time. Whitmore flicked on a long ball towards Greaves, who calmly slotted past Van Heusden from 15 yards.
Exeter: Van Heusden, Whitworth, Buckle, Curran, Ampadu, Roscoe,
Tomlinson, Rawlinson, Campbell, C. Roberts, Zabek.
Hull: Musselwhite, Edwards, Harper, Whittle, Goodison,
Brightwell, Whitmore, Greaves, Philpott, Brown, Marcelle. Referee: M North (Wimborne).
