Aldershot 1-1 Gillingham

Former Aldershot player John Nutter scored the equaliser as Gillingham fought back to draw at the Shots.

In a cagey opening period the best chance fell to the hosts but Tim Sills was unable to find the target.

Danny Hylton put the Shots in front when he calmly slotted home before Nutter equalised shortly after with a superb curled effort.

Both sides then had chances to win it but Ben Harding fired over and Cody McDonald struck a post for the Gills.

Aldershot manager Dean Holdsworth told BBC Surrey:
"I'm disappointed with the result. We worked, and worked and created some good chances.

"Danny Hylton cut inside and tucked away a great goal. We could have dealt with their goal 15 second before the free kick was given

"It's a harsh lesson. I've said to the lads everything is important. Every header, every control, every moment on that pitch is as important as the next."

Gillingham's assistant manager Ian Hendon told BBC Radio Kent:
"I think it says a lot when we come to Aldershot and we're disappointed with a draw, it's amazing how our season has turned around.

"We made things difficult for ourselves, rather than expressing ourselves and stamping our authority on the game.

"It's a credit to the players they fought back after Aldershot's goal, they didn't get their heads down, and Cody McDonald could have won it for us but his shot hit the post.

"From our point of view, from the staff, it wasn't good enough."
