Chesterfield 1-2 Oxford Utd

Oxford ended a run of five consecutive defeats to beat Chesterfield and knock them off top spot in League Two.

The Spireites got off to a good start when Ian Morris's shot from 25 yards beat goalkeeper Ryan Clarke.

But the visitors levelled when Tom Craddock headed in after great work from Simon Heslop and Steven MacLean.

MacLean scored the winner, sidefooting home from close range before Simon Ford hit Oxford's woodwork in injury time as they just held on.

Chesterfield boss John Sheridan told BBC Radio Sheffield:
"I'm disappointed to have lost the game, we got ourselves into a winning position and we've got to learn that once you get an advantage you have to work a lot harder to keep that advantage.

"When you are in a winning position and you are top of the league you've got to have leaders on the pitch and unfortunately we didn't have many tonight.

"Teams are going to make it hard for us, they are going to put men behind the ball because we have been scoring goals for fun."
