Kidderminster 2-0 Torquay
Kidderminster Harriers made a dream start to life in Nationwide League Division Three by beating Torquay United 2-0.

A 66th minute goal by former Wales international Barry Horne sealed the points for the newly-promoted Conference champions, who had taken the lead in the 14th minute with a controversial strike by Stewart Hadley.

But there was no disputing Horne's effort.

The debutant struck a 30-yard volley that dipped over Torquay keeper Stuart Jones's head.

The opener was hotly-contested by the United defence.

Both Paul Webb and ex-Mansfield striker Hadley looked suspiciously off-side when defender Scott Stamps's shot found its way through the visitors' defence.

Webb simply knocked the ball down for Hadley to score and referee Graham Poll allowed the goal after consulting his linesman.

Things could not have gone better for Jan Molby's men with a crowd of 5,122 enjoying a carnival atmosphere.

At times Torquay looked like the league newcomers.
