Burton Albion   1 - 1   Shrewsbury

Burton 1-1 Shrewsbury

Burton 1-1 Shrewsbury

Ten-man Burton Albion battled back from behind to deny Shrewsbury Town their third successive away win.

Town went ahead through a Dave Hibbert header after the hosts failed to deal with a Craig Disley corner.

Burton looked doomed when Guy Branston was sent off after picking up two yellow cards in three minutes for fouls on Disley and Paul Murray.

But Greg Pearson latched onto a pass from Jacques Maghoma to fire home the equaliser and grab a point for Burton.

Burton manager Paul Peschisolido told BBC Radio Derby:

"I thought we were the better side. We held the ball down, we caused them all sorts of trouble and while they were obviously going to counter and get opportunities, they were few and far between.

"I'm delighted with the lads. They showed character, commitment, pride, passion, desire, in fact everything I could possibly ask for."

Shrewsbury manager Paul Simpson told BBC Radio Shropshire:

"When a team goes down to 10 men, it's not a case of it's going to be easy. You have to work that little bit harder, because the opposition do.

"We had a situation at half time where, if we go about our business properly, the game's ours.

"We've taken seven points from three away games which we shouldn't scoff at, but it's disappointing because we've thrown two points away today."
