Chesterfield 1-0 Barnet

Scott Boden came off the bench to score his first goal of the season and hand Chesterfield a narrow home victory.

Boden settled an evenly-matched contest with a cool finish in the 65th minute to send Barnet crashing to a fourth straight defeat away from home.

Barnet had enjoyed the majority of possession in the first half with their wingers causing problems.

But Boden, put in by Jack Lester, sidestepped the keeper to fire in the winner from 12 yards.

Chesterfield manager John Sheridan told BBC Radio Sheffield:

"I knew Barnet would be a tough side, they'll be up there at the end of the season.

"I think the most important thing is that we won the game and got three points, I hope people don't expect us to play like that every week.

"We deservedly won the game in the end.

Barnet manager Ian Hendon told BBC London 94.9:

"I think sometimes you don't get what you deserve. We have had it tough on the road in the last few games but that performance today was exactly what I wanted from my players.

"We were more solid, we showed a bit more determination than we have done in previous weeks but, at the end, we were a bit open and loose because we were trying to chase the game and get something out of it.

"We could've got something from the game."
