Accrington Stanley stalled Rochdale's progress at the upper end of the League Two table with an impressive victory.

Robert Grant gave Accrington the lead when he nodded home a Michael Symes flick-on after James Ryan's free-kick.

Symes then sealed the points in style by lashing in a 30-yard volley off Phil Edwards' speculative up-field punt.

Chris Dagnall pulled a goal back in injury time, but Accrington were not to be denied a first win against the Dale since returning to the Football League.
