Burton made it three Football League wins out of three for the first time.

They went ahead in the eighth minute when Jacques Maghoma squeezed home a shot from the edge of the area after a clever link-up with Richard Walker.

Full-back Aaron Webster had a goal disallowed before Barnet hit back and Joe Tabiri could have equalised had he shown a better first touch.

Burton's Michael Simpson went close several times before Ryan Austin's 35-yard free-kick deflected in.

Barnet manager Ian Hendon told BBC London 94.9:

"We've played some good stuff and, if you'd been a neutral watching it, you would've probably thought they were the away team.

"Apart from the first five minutes, I think we've taken the game to them, passed the ball ever so well, got a lot of ball in the box, got a lot of crosses in.

"But, to be fair, I don't think the end product was there today.

"Maybe that can possibly be blamed on the shape as I went with Paul Furlong up top on his own. Maybe he didn't have enough help there."
