Notts County 3-1 Port Vale

Two goals by Lee Hughes helped Notts County end a week of upsets on a positive note.

Hughes's first, his eighth of the season, was a header from a Johnnie Jackson cross, before Marc Richards levelled with a penalty.

County went back in front when Hughes netted another spot kick, after John McCombe brought down Luke Rodgers.

Hughes was also involved in the third when, under pressure from him, Lee Collins put the ball into his own net.

Notts County manager Ian McParland told BBC Radio Nottingham:

"It is always going to be hard from us here, the way teams come and set up and we have to keep going. Mark my words it was tough game for us.

"This is one of the best bunch of players I have ever been involved with, the work hard in training and in the games."
