Burton 0-1 Dagenham & Redbridge

Dagenham & Redbridge kept in touch with League Two leaders Bournemouth as Burton Albion paid the price for a missed penalty and a red card.

Paul Benson gave Dagenham an early lead with a close-range finish from Artur Krysiak's cross.

Burton were awarded a penalty when striker Shaun Harrad was brought down by Will Antwi, but Harrad's spot-kick was saved by Tony Roberts.

Burton captain Guy Branston was sent off for a professional foul on Benson.

"I'm devastated for the lads because we asked for 100% and they've surely given us that.

"We deserved three points and im not going to hesitate to say that.

"About Guy Branstons sending off:It was a clumsy challenge but even with ten men we were the better side."

Dagenham & Redbridge manager John Still told BBC Essex:

"I was absolutely delighted with the qualities that we've shown.

"We're not going to outplay teams every week because that doesn't happen in football, so sometimes when you're away from home you've got to work hard.

"Everybody put in a great effort, great determination and I was pleased with that."
