Barry Conlon's second goal of the season saw Grimsby secure their first points this term.

Conlon headed home Danny North's cross to put the visitors into a 20th-minute lead that proved to be enough.

Bury came close through Paul Scott headers and Jordan Robertson was denied by on-loan keeper Tommy Forecast.

Robertson saw two other good chances go begging but despite the constant threat of Mike Jones, the Shakers could not prevent their second home defeat.
