Accrington 0-1 Chester

Ryan Lowe's first-half penalty earned Chester a welcome win in their battle against the drop, though Grimsby's later win kept them in the drop zone.

Colin Murdock fouled Kevin Ellison to concede the penalty, allowing Lowe to step up and seal three precious points with his 17th of the season.

It could have been more for Chester had Ellison not later hit a post or Ben Jones twice wasted good opportunities.

Stanley's best chance fell to Murdock, but his header flew over the bar.
