Exeter had taken the lead when Saunders spectacularly fired in a dipping half-volley from 40 yards.

Barnet levelled before half-time when Paul Furlong poked in John O'Flynn's pass, but Exeter hit back with Matt Gill stroking in Steve Basham's pass.
