Chester 1-2 Port Vale

Goals in each half from Marc Richards and Simon Richman earned Port Vale victory at Chester.

Richards opened the scoring when Ross Davidson slid a pass to the striker who had time to pick his spot.

Ryan Lowe hit the post but Vale doubled their lead when substitute Richman bundled home after Richards and Louis Dodds had efforts cleared off the line.

Chester got a late consolation when Paul Taylor did brilliantly to set up Lowe to side-foot home.
