Adam Birchall's double-strike helped Barnet beat fellow-strugglers Bury.

Bury had a host of early chances but Adam Rooney headed straight at Lee Harrison before shooting tamely at the keeper from close range soon after.

Birchall punished the Shakers for their poor finishing when he flicked the ball over Bury keeper Jim Provett, then met Jason Puncheon's cross to make it 2-0.

A superb Provett save stopped Birchall claiming a hat-trick but Cliff Akurang followed up to seal the Bees' victory.
