Ricky Shakes scored twice as Brentford dealt a blow to Wrexham's hopes of staying in the Football League.
Shakes' header gave Brentford the lead after half an hour as the striker scored his first goal for six months from inside the six yard box.
Wrexham 'keeper Gavin Ward saved well from Craig Pead in the second-half.
But Ward couldn't stop Shakes firing home his second with ten minutes remaining as Wrexham suffered just their third defeat in 12 games.
