A goal in each half gave Peterborough victory at 10-man Barnet and carried them to the top of League Two.
The visitors took the lead through Dean Keates, whose wicked free-kick beat Rob Beckwith in the Barnet goal.
The night got worse for Barnet shortly afterwards when a moment of madness saw Jason Puncheon sent off for kicking the ball at an assistant referee.
Both sides hit the woodwork before Jamie Day made it safe for Posh with a 20-yard free-kick into the top corner.
