FA punishes Spireites and Millers

Chesterfield have been fined £2,000 and Rotherham £2,500 by the Football Association after a melee in their match last December.

The Spireites admitted a charge of failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion but the Millers contested it.

Both clubs have also been warned as to their future conduct.

The charges related to a fixture at Saltergate that Rotherham won 2-0 with Derek Holmes and Mark Hudson scoring.
