A first-half strike from Nick Bailey is enough to hand Barnet victory against struggling Torquay.
The midfielder arrived to meet Liam Hatch's neat lay-off and bury a eight-yard shot past Andy Marriott.
The goal condemned Torquay to their eight away defeat, but the visitors were left to rue a disastrous missed penalty from Paul Robinson.
Robinson had his shirt tugged by Damien Batt, but could only drag his effort from the spot woefully wide.
