York's early-season bubble appears to have burst as they slipped to a third successive defeat, going down to an impressive Yeovil outfit.
The home side began brightly and deservedly opened the scoring when Kirk Jackson latched on to Gavin Williams' pinpoint delivery with a towering header.
And moments later, Jackson almost bagged a second but was denied by a wonderful stop from man-of-the-match Mark Ovendale.
The second goal did arrive after 34 minutes when York failed to deal with an inswinging corner. Defender Colin Pluck took full advantage and made no mistake with a tidy finish.
York improved in the second half but deep into injury-time Adam Stansfield wrapped it up with a fine strike after good work from Jake Edwards.
