Hull 2-0 Shrewsbury

Liverpool loan star John Otsemobor scored his second goal in a Hull shirt to help the Tigers to victory.

The home side's faint play-off hopes seemed dead and buried until Otsemobor struck with a thumping header nine minutes from the end.

In stoppage time Dean Keates smashed home a penalty to secure a precious win for Peter Taylor's men.

Shrewsbury looked listless in attack and only once forced Alan Fettis into a save when he tipped over Carl Murray's blockbuster.

But the visitors were also in mean mood at the back and restricted Hull to just one shot on target until the opening goal.

Hull burst into life when Phil Jevons struck the crossbar and the Otsemobor goal put the home side in command.

Keates made certain of the points from the spot after Murray clattered into Jevons.
