Goodman fuming after defeat
Exeter striker Don Goodman was left an angry man after his side's 1-0 Devon derby defeat by Torquay.

The veteran frontman felt he was fouled in the build-up to Martin Gritton's winner for the Gulls - and also claimed an offside should have been given in the same move.

"I've never seen anything like it in 20 years in the game," Goodman said. "It was a complete travesty of justice.

"The boy dived in and caught me on the ankle. I fell on the ball and, seeing the linesman already flagging for the free-kick, I've picked it up.

"I had in my hands for at least three seconds but it came loose and they played it through.

"The boy looked well offside from where I was but he was allowed to go on and score.

"For a goal like that to decide a local derby, especially when we're in the perilous position we're in, is very hard to take," he told the Exeter Express and Echo.

Torquay boss Leroy Rosenior admitted his side had "maybe enjoyed a lucky break" for their goal - but felt they deserved their victory.

He said: "In terms of commitment and desire and passion, I thought we were superb. Exeter are a difficult side to play against.

"It was always going to be a tight game with not a lot of chances, we created the chances and were the better side.

"I don't give praise very often, I'm very critical, but we were absolutely superb," he told the club's website.
