Rochdale were forced to battle hard to grab a draw against Darlington after being on the back-foot for most of the second half.

Dale started brightly and took the lead after just seven minutes when Lee McEvilly controlled the ball on the edge of the box, turned and rifled it into the bottom right hand corner.

But gradually Darlington forced their way back into the game.

And after former Rochdale winger Phil Hadland had set up the equaliser for Ashley Nicholls, the Quakers were unlucky not to snatch a winner through Barry Conlon late on.
