Bournemouth 1-1 Cambridge
![]() Bournemouth striker Warren Feeney's second-half goal preserved the Cherries' unbeaten start to the season. The Northern Ireland international struck in the 64th minute to cancel out Terry Fleming's first-half opener for the U's. United dominated the early exchanges and took the lead when Fleming rifled the ball home from 18 yards after Phil Warner's throw-in had been flicked on by Dave Kitson. But Bournemouth emerged from the interval a different side and thoroughly deserved their equaliser. Substitute Alan Connell sent Feeney clear to slot the ball home from close range. The Cherries had a number of chances to clinch victory. Wade Elliott's 20-yard strike was tipped over by Shaun Marshall and Feeney spurned a glorious chance in the 81st minute when he shot wide.
Bournemouth: Tardif, Tindall, Purches, Maher, Carl Fletcher, O'Connor, Hayter, Narada, Browning, Feeney, Holmes. Subs: Elliott, Stock, Broadhurst, Connell, Thomas. Cambridge Utd: Marshall, Goodhind, Angus, Duncan, Fleming, Warner, Youngs, Guttridge, Tudor, Riza, Kitson. Subs: Brennan, Wanless, Scully, Revell, Bridges. Referee: P Crossley (Kent).
