York 1-2 Luton
York City's Michael Proctor (left) in action against Luton's Aaron Skelton
Substitute Ian Hillier grabbed a 74th-minute winner to secure the points for Luton as they beat York in a pulsating clash at Bootham Crescent.

Hillier crashed the ball home from the edge of the box following a poor clearance from Lee Bullock.

City went ahead after 32 minutes when Lee Nogan drilled home a superb cross from on-loan striker Michael Proctor.

The Hatters levelled three minutes from the break when Carl Griffiths steered in a deft header from a Kevin Nicholls cross.

York goalkeeper Alan Fettis twice saved penalties from Steven Howard after referee Graham Salisbury ordered the first to be retaken after 53 minutes.

City debutant Marc Salvati then had an effort disallowed for offside.

Darren Edmondson and John Fielding both hit the Luton crossbar, while skipper Chris Brass spurned a golden chance when clean through in the 70th minute.
