Hull 4-0 York
Promotion-favourites Hull City sent a chilling message to the rest of the Third Division after they demolished local rivals York 4-0 at Boothferry Park.

Nicky Mohan opened the scoring with his first goal of the season after 23 minutes when York's Chris Brass needlessly pulled down Lee Philpott.

Mohan scored from the resulting free-kick.

Moments later, the Minstermen came close to an equaliser as Lee Bullock forced a fine save from Matt Glennon with a 25-yard strike.

Lawrie Dudfield grabbed Hull's second from the spot just after the hour when Theodore Whitmore was clumsily up-ended by Darren Edmondson.

And Dudfield was involved in the third goal when he beat his marker and found Gary Alexander, who hammered home from 10 yards after 73 minutes.

Substitute David Lee completed a miserable return to East Yorkshire for ex-Tigers boss Terry Dolan with a superb 25-yard free-kick in stoppage-time.
