Hull chief vows to save Tigers
Hull City's stadium
Hull's future in doubt with debts in excess of £1m
Hull City's chairman Nick Buchanan has vowed to fight on to save the crisis-hit Third Division.

The club are running out of time to fight an official winding up order in the High Court after Customs and Excise and the Inland Revenue demanded an immediate payment of around £500,000.

The Tigers' other debts are said to total more than £1m.

I am passionate about this club and I will do everything I can to make sure this club survives - even if that means me walking out
  Hull chairman Nick Buchanan

But Buchanan and his directors are hoping to stave off the order by securing a creditors' voluntary agreement which would allow the board to restructure its debt repayments while still keeping control of the club's finances.

Buchanan said: "I am passionate about this club and I will do everything I can to make sure this club survives - even if that means me walking out.

"But I will only go if I am sure that the people I leave this club to have better means than me. But so far I have seen nothing which has convinced me otherwise."

The Tigers chairman said he was disappointed when he found out the identities of the people behind the two bids which collapsed earlier this week.

"I could not believe it when I found out who was behind the deals," he said.

"Everyone who has said they want to buy the club are all bay windows with no curtains.

"I have a responsibility to this club and I am not just going to sell it to anyone."
