Substitute Will Grigg's late goal helped Walsall pick up a deserved win over Dagenham and Redbridge.
The Saddlers dominated proceedings as Jon Macken threatened with two efforts that flashed wide, while Aaron Lescott had a close-range shot deflected over.
Richard Taundry also saw an effort fly past the post, and Darryl Westlake fired over from five yards out.
A lunging Abu Ogogo thwarted Julian Gray, but Grigg slotted in the decisive goal from Macken's slide-rule pass.
