League One fixtures: Sheffield Wednesday host Daggers

Play-off winners Dagenham & Redbridge will begin the season at Sheffield Wednesday
The Daggers' Wembley heroes will begin the season at Hillsborough

Relegated Sheffield Wednesday will start life in League One at home to newly promoted Dagenham & Redbridge when the new season begins on 7 August.

Of the other promoted clubs, Bournemouth also face a tough opener at The Valley against another ex-Premier League outfit, Charlton Athletic.

League Two champions Notts County host Huddersfield Town, while Rochdale are at home to Hartlepool.

Relegated Plymouth visit Southampton, many bookmakers' title favourites.

Last season's other relegated Championship side, Peterborough United, are at home to Bristol Rovers.

Leyton Orient boss Russell Slade visits his old club Yeovil on opening day, while Danny Wilson's beaten League One play-off finalists Swindon Town kick off with a home game against one of his former clubs, Brighton.

New Colchester manager John Ward will take his side to Exeter, while Oldham player-boss Paul Dickov faces a relatively short trip to Tranmere, and Karl Robinson - the youngest manager in the League - takes his Milton Keynes side to Walsall.

Meanwhile, Brentford have possibly the longest journey of any club on opening day - travelling north to Carlisle.
