Leyton Orient boss Russell Slade visits his old club Yeovil on opening day, while Danny Wilson's beaten League One play-off finalists Swindon Town kick off with a home game against one of his former clubs, Brighton.
New Colchester manager John Ward will take his side to Exeter, while Oldham player-boss Paul Dickov faces a relatively short trip to Tranmere, and Karl Robinson - the youngest manager in the League - takes his Milton Keynes side to Walsall.
Meanwhile, Brentford have possibly the longest journey of any club on opening day - travelling north to Carlisle.
