MK Dons moved to within five points of play-off rivals Swindon with a hard-fought win at Stadium MK.

Aaron Wilbraham put the Dons ahead after just 65 seconds, tapping in from close range after David Lucas had parried Luke Chadwick's shot.

James Tunnicliffe then headed home Peter Leven's corner for his first MK Dons goal before Swindon piled forward.

The luckless Robins hit the woodwork three times before Daniel Ward volleyed an injury-time consolation.

"Today at times, when the defending wasn't good, the luck was on our side.

"It was a pleasing performance. Every man that put on an MK Dons shirt tonight deserves a round of applause.
