Danny Foster's second-half own goal gifted Leyton Orient victory over London rivals Brentford.

Carl Cort put the Bees ahead when he nodded home Sam Wood's free-kick.

The O's wasted a golden chance to level when Nikki Bull saved Scott McLeish's penalty after Ryan Jarvis was upended by Mark Phillips in the area.

But McGleish made amends when he hooked in Tamika Mkandawire's knockdown and Foster settled it when he turned Andros Townsend's cross into his own net.

Leyton Orient manager Geraint Williams told BBC London 94.9:

"We only get the same three points for it but we've got to win the games against the teams around us.

"Given the start we got off to today, that makes it such a big win.

"People talked about a month or so ago about a home hoodoo and a start like that would have killed us earlier in the season.

"But to come back from that and show that bottle and that heart to win the game says a lot about the players."

Brentford manager Andy Scott told BBC London 94.9:

"We're going to struggle. We can't defend. They've probably had four shots on our goal in the whole game and we've conceded two goals.

"Same again. Five shots against Bristol Rovers, they score three goals. Yeovil, the same.

"We're just conceding terrible goals. We have all the pressure, all the chances and, yet, we can't deal with long clearances and then we end up in our half for the next five minutes. It's not good enough."
