Defender Radhi Jaidi earned a point for Southampton when he headed home in the sixth minute of injury-time.

Carlisle substitute Scott Dobie came on and made an impact - scoring from a tap-in after Tom Taiwo's shot had wrong-footed keeper Kelvin Davis.

Southampton had earlier missed a great chance in the 65th minute when Jacob Mellis broke through but could only hit the side-netting.

But Jaidi had the final word when he rose at the far post to head home.

Southampton manager Alan Pardew told BBC Radio Solent:

"I am disappointed with our goal, we were a bit unlucky and both goals had a bit of fortune to them.

"I have to play credit to our fans. If we had been as good as them we would have won this game.

"It's six games unbeaten and the positive I am going to take from today is that desire not to get beaten."
